Hi Everyone, Christine here with a salt and water colour background and this winter bird.
I started with a background I created previously with watercolour paints on watercolour cardstock and while it was wet I dropped grains of salt over it.
This is what my background looked like before the image was added. You can see where the salt crystals picked up the colour.
I then stamped the image of the bird with the berries using Versafine Clair and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I used a little bleach to remove some of the background colour and then painted with watercolours. I used a Posca white paint pen for the birds chest and blended a little water colour to shade from dark to light. I finished off by adding some pencil highlights. The berries were covered with liquid crystal to make them shine.
I used a circle stencil to add some interest to the edges of the image.
