Hi Everyone, it's Christine here playing with some Alcohol inks (AI's) Vaseline resist and Ranger Alcohol lift.
I applied a thin layer of the Vaseline using a sponge to the stamp then stamped the image on Yupo. I selected some green and blue Alcohol inks, a small fine line bottle filled with Isopropyl Alcohol with a pouring tip and a blower for the inks. I used an air sprayer but you could also use a straw or one the ink blowers from Ranger.
I started by dropping small amounts of Alcohol inks over the image, then poured some Isopropyl Alcohol on top. This makes the AI's flow easily when you blow them. Keep adding inks and Isopropyl Alcohol until the whole image is covered with the ink. Let the inks to dry then wipe the surface with a dry paper towel to remove the Vaseline. The image appears as the Vaseline protects the Yupo from the AI's. I then took my branch stamp and using the Alcohol ink lift pad removed the background colour. I use a paper towel to pat dry the lifting ink before rubbing at the ink. If you rub the wet ink you'll smear the image. Finally I stamped the branch using Stazon ink to give the image some depth.
For my second card I stamped the Mandala using the Vaseline and then added more stamping using Versafine Clair around the image.
