Hi everyone, my card this week is a butterfly on a Gel print background.
I used my 4" circle Gel plate placed it on one of my larger acrylic blocks/board. I brayered olive dye ink on the gel surface, removing some of the ink by brayering off on to a piece of copy paper. I placed the stencil on the gel plate and used copy paper to remove the ink from the cut-out portion of the stencil. I lightly rubbed the paper so it picked up the green ink. I then brayered Burgundy ink over the stencil making sure I got between the stencil lines. I then removed the stencil and used the gel plate as a stamp by pressing it onto my card. Placing it on a stamp block allows you to ensure the image is centred when you press it on the card, you can also see the gel making contact with the card surface for a good print.
I then stamped the butterfly using Versafine Clair Twilight and coloured it with pencils and covered it with Glossy accents. I stamped the sentiment on card and cut out the Happy Birthday portion and attached it to the card. I used a Black pastel pencil to add a little shadowing on two sides of the sentiment text to give a little dimension. The edge of the image card was outlined using a metallic blue pen to create a frame.
