Hi everyone, I've been playing with some light texture paste and embossing powders.

I sprayed some distress inks onto watercolour paper, when it was dry I splashed water and bleach over it to remove some of the colour. I then used some light texture paste on the bird stencil. While the texture paste was still wet I sprinkled different colours of embossing powder over it.  After I heated the embossing powder I used Posca acrylic markers to add colour to the branch, and the eyes, the beaks and the tails of the bird. I stamped the background with the leaf stamps and coloured the leaves using Posca acrylic pens and some script around the edge. Where the colour was very dark I used a little bleach to remove some of it before painting with the posca pens.

Hi everyone, I'm here with another mixed media card.

I used gesso over some printed tissue paper paste glued to card base and sprayed it with distress oxide sprays. I stamped the background and added some texture paste. The butterflies were stamped on the background and then again on watercolour card and fussy cut them out. You can't see it in the photo but the texture paste is painted with shimmery watercolour paint.

Hi everyone I have a mixed media card for you today.

I tore off some pieces of text paper and stuck them to the base card usingsome matt media. When it was dry I painted over the whole are with some watered down gesso so that the print on the paper would still show through. I stamped the background with a mix of stamps and then sprayed distress oxide sprays in blues and browns. I used white texture paste through the stencil randomly over the background. The texture paste pick up the colour from the base layer so it's not so it blends in with the background. I also rubbed pewter gilding wax over the stenciling. When my background was finished i stamped the bird on water colour paper coloured it with watercolour crayons and fussy cut the image. I went round the edge with a black pen to mask any of my bad fussy cutting.
