Savvy Creations with Cassandra / Créations avisées avec Cassandra

Hello Magenta Friends! Cassandra here today sharing a card and an ATC. I had some fun with florals and fussy cutting in creating these serendipitous symphonies of spring.

The flowers and bunny were all created on watercolour paper and stamped/coloured using various colour media (Distress Inks, Zig Big Brush Real Color markers and Dina Wakely Scribble Sticks) using the load, spritz water, stamp and move colour with a paint brush technique. While waiting for the flowers to dry before fussy cutting them, I stamped the script randomly onto the backgrounds and smooshed on Grass Green Nuance power.

On the ATC, I clear heat emboss stamped the foliage stamp prior to watercolouring it with Green Grass Nuance and Twisted Citron Distress ink.

Both sentiments were stamped with Black Soot Archival ink onto vellum and then clear embossed.

Treats on Tuesday with Christine - La gâterie du mardi avec Christine

Hi Everyone, it's Christine here playing with some alcohol inks and this beautiful blossom crescent stamp.
My background is alcohol inks on Stone paper with a Vaseline resist.
Before I tell you how I made the card you may be wonder what Stone paper is. It's a manufactured paper made of Calcium Carbonate and High Density Polyethene. The paper is water resistant but a little more difficult to come by than Yupo (Polypropylene). It's considered more environmentally friendly with only a small amount of plastic and also doesn't use water in its manufacturing process. If you have the opportunity to buy some give it a try, it's amazing for Gelli printing and works in the same way as Yupo with Alcohol inks.

So onto the card. I used Vaseline as an alcohol ink resist following this YouTube video, the other tidbit we were given on the video is that Vaseline can be used as a sealer. People come up with the most amazing ideas. 😊
The Vaseline protects the surface under the stamp from the ink, the blending solution moves the ink around. Then the excess blending solution allows you to wipe off any excess inks and Vaseline leaving the image behind. I used the script and the dots on my background and some fairly dark inks. I then stamped the image of the crescent blossom on the Stone paper in Stazon (Black) and again on a piece of watercolour paper in Versafine Clair (Nocturn). I coloured the image, fussy cut it then lay it over the background stamped image. I used some yellow Viva Decor Paper pen for the centre of the flowers and clear for some water droplets on the petals and leaves.

Ellie's creative Monday / Lundi créatif d'Ellie

Still in the tulip theme, just as previous two Mondays..

This time I did a makeover of the two cards from last week
.. same background... the fussycut flower adhered over the top !
I left the leaves as is.

This week's first card ...
versus
... last week's card below!

Isn't it beautiful as well?
The flower has been stamped in a stamping platform, applying color to it with watercolor markers and reapplying and restamping again and again.. starting with an overall orange red to the darker red and even black in some areas.

This week's second card ...
versus
...the second card from last week: a more yellowish tulip.

The flower has been stamped in a stamping platform, applying color to the stamp with watercolor markers and reapplying and restamping again and again.. starting with an overall lighter red, misting with water before stamping;  to the darker reds in some areas; no black!
I added a very light yellow with a colored pencil to the surface to make it more interesting..

Why did I do this?
I was not sure which version I liked better, and decided I would show both versions.. why not?

On a background of watercolor cardstock colored with Nuance powders in gray and pink tones, once completely dry, I stamped the chickadee on its flowering branch in permanent black ink.

I enhanced everything with colored pencil. Then, as I found it a bit empty, I added foliage and flower stencil in very pale blue, somewhat reminiscent of those on the stamp.

Super Saturday with Pam – Super Samedis avec Pam

Welcome back to Super Saturday.
For today’s card I stamped the Spring Warbler on a piece of white cardstock, then colored with Prismacolor pencils.
I restamped with VersaMark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder.  I die cut the image and then used Salty Ocean Distress ink to shade the edges of the die cut.  To add dimension, I cut two more die cuts and glued all three pieces together.
For the background piece I applied Ripe Persimmon Distress ink through the Tumbled Leaves stencil onto a piece of watercolor paper that I had previously colored with Nuance powders.  I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and embossed with gold embossing powder.  I trimmed it to 3 7/8” x 1 ¼”, cut two more strips the same size and adhered all three pieces together.  I adhered the background to a white, A2, then adhered the stamped image and the sentiment.  I added a few sequins for some sparkle.

Inspirational Friday with Mariëtte / L'inspiration du vendredi avec Mariëtte

Magenta has a large collection of bird stamps, you can find them here in the shop. I have used the sandpiper an ATC

As I created this a long time ago, I don't exactly remember what kind of inks or mediums I have used. But I like the result :-)

Jeudi avec… Nathalie / Thursday with… Nathalie

I couldn't decide which of these cards I prefer, so I'm showing you all three.

A mandala mask with very fine lines, like lace, is applied to the four corners of the square of white cardstock, overlapping in a transparency obtained by light, gentle inking.

The apple blossom stamp is then stamped in the lower left corner, while the foliage design is stamped to the right creating a border.

Colored pencil and black marker complete the decor of these very spring-like cards.
