Hi everyone, I have a quick Valentine card for you today.

I sprayed some watercolour card with a mix of red and pink distress inks. I let it dry and splattered some water over to remove patches of the colour. I stamped it with the From the Hearts stamp and used verssamark and gold embossing powder. I added a little script to the background and mounted it on a piece of gold mirror card. I stamped the base card with Love and Music in gold ink before attaching the watercolour panel and used a gold pen marker to mark around the edge to create a faux mat effect.

Hi everyone, I've been playing with some light texture paste and embossing powders.

I sprayed some distress inks onto watercolour paper, when it was dry I splashed water and bleach over it to remove some of the colour. I then used some light texture paste on the bird stencil. While the texture paste was still wet I sprinkled different colours of embossing powder over it.  After I heated the embossing powder I used Posca acrylic markers to add colour to the branch, and the eyes, the beaks and the tails of the bird. I stamped the background with the leaf stamps and coloured the leaves using Posca acrylic pens and some script around the edge. Where the colour was very dark I used a little bleach to remove some of it before painting with the posca pens.

Hi everyone, I had a little fun using a real leaf to add some interest to this pretty tree image. Because the leaf is so cool I kept the stamping simple. I stamped the trees on the card in Versafine Clair Nocturn, and framed it with a white die cut thin frame. I then heat embossed my leaf with gold, brown and blue embossing powders.

The leaf is one I collected on my walk, I was looking for an interesting shape with holes and partly torn.

Use glue (any craft glue) to seal the leaf on both sides, I hung it up to dry.

When it was dry I painted one side with more glue and sprinkled embossing powders randomly over it using gold browns and blues heating between colours and adding more glue for each layer of embossing powder, You can paint the glue on small areas and then add the embossing powder.

Hi everyone, I have a Christmas card in non traditional colours for you today. The background is coated card smooshed in layers of distress oxide ink in pinks and purples each layer dried before the next one is added. I then stamped the Noel image and coloured it with a mix of Posca, gel and watercolour pens. I then stenciled the stars around the edge and stamped a sentiment in first and second generation stamping to give a distressed effect. The border was then edged with a gold pen and mounted on a white card base.

Hello Magenta Friends! Cassandra here today sharing a seasonal shimmer watercolour card.

Starting with a 5x7" piece of Stonehedge black watercolour paper, pounce white pigment ink through the tree stencil. Once dry, using metallic watercolour paints to watercolour the balls. First with a light layer of colour and then go back in with a greater concentration of colour leaving a highlight area. Heat emboss stamp the Happy Holidays sentiment in gold sparkle emboss powder. Trim the sides of the panel, mount on a 5x7" gold metallic cardstock, and adhere to a 5x7" card base.

Hello Magenta Friends! Cassandra here sharing a heat embossed watercolour card. With holiday time comes time for me to get creative and today I am sharing another seasonal card that I made on the weekend.

The Poinsettia corner stamp was black heat emboss stamped on Strathmore Bristol Vellum two times. The spruce springs were blended with Pine Bough Distress inks and the pine needles with Rustic Wilderness. The flowers were watercoloured with Abandon Coral Distress ink and Iuile Peach watercolour. The leaves are a combo of Peeled Paint Distress ink, Iuile Forest and Neon Leaf watercolours. The berries are painted with Iuile 3D watercolour paint.

Each corner was fussy cut into two sections and then the four sections were adhered to a 5x7" card base covered with a piece of Bazzil cardstock with the spruce spring overlapping each part to create a wreath. The centres were embellished with a three sizes of Darice green jewels.  The Merry Christmas sentiment was heat embossed stamped using Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink and Pastel Mint emboss powder.

While I have had these Iuile watercolours for a while, this is the first time that I have painted with them. The colour and sparkle on these are gorgeous. I found that with the mica content is so dense and opaque that it was hard to get shading like I can get for regular watercolours while doing a wet-on-wet painting session. My work around for this was to add some Abandon Coral Distress ink for the flowers and Peeled Paint for the leaves.

Hello Magenta Friends! Cassandra here today sharing a Christmas card with a open wreath layer design.

Using the Gina K Wreath Builder template, I stamped the Pine branches with Mowed Lawn distress ink for the first go round and then with Rustic Wilderness on the second. Next, I stamped and masked of the Chickadees on Branch on the inside of a card base so I could blend out the blue background using Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers distress ink and then splattered a little Copic Opaque White paint. Once dry, I removed the mask and added touches of Antique Linen to the birds using a small blending brush. Then, I determined the size of the circle that I wanted to cut out of the centre to create the wreath and to the top of the card so that it would create dimension and a shadow box effect. I popped up the wreath panel onto the card cover and then gold heat emboss stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment on a stripe of red card stock. After trimming it, I adhered it to the card and added some jewels for some sparkle.

Hello Magenta Friends! Cassandra here today sharing two cards made with distress ink stenciled gelli plate monoprints.

Both started out the same way. First, I went direct ink pad to 3x5" gelli plate with Twisted Citron Distress ink and then brayered it out. Next, I placed the Large Old Lace Stencil over top and pounced on Cracked Pistachio Distress ink in a non-uniform manner. Then, I removed the stencil and pulled the print. I repeated it a second time and there I had two background bases for my cards.

I used the flower stencil for with Silver Delicatata ink and a blending brush. It wasn't quite the effect I was going for so I added some matte gel paste through the stencil and added some Rock Candy Distress Glitter. While that was set aside to dry, I turned my attention back to the gell plate and lay out the flower masks from the stencil in a pleasing design. Next, I pounced and brayered Black Soot Distress ink onto the plate, removed the flowers and reapplying the remainder pulled print to the plate and pulled it again.

I already had the coffee filter silver glitter heat embossed stamped butterflies coloured with Nuance purples (MNU0016 & MNU003) leftover from a previous project and all I needed to do was fussy cut them out. I stamped the Happy Birthday and You are AWESOME sentiments with Black Soot Archival ink on white cardstock strips and then heat embossed them with clear emboss powder before using a blending brush to colour them with Cracked Pistachio Distress ink. I popped the strips up with cereal box board pieces before adhering them and gluing the butterflies by their centres and then using foam squares under the top part of their wings to add dimension to them. That finished off the Happy Birthday card and to finish the You are AWESOME card I added in some Gina K Disco BAll sequins. I mounted both on tent card fold card bases with two pieces of cereal board under to create that little bit of dimension.

As promised last week: a colorful version of the butterfly collage stamp. 

The background has been made on a Histor sample of a very light blue paint. As it is a watercolor background I could easily remove the color from within the stamped images. I painted parts of the images with a water-diluted acrylic paint, then added color to part of the images. 
I finished the collage by stamping some tiny flowers around it.
