Hi everyone, I've been playing with some light texture paste and embossing powders.

I sprayed some distress inks onto watercolour paper, when it was dry I splashed water and bleach over it to remove some of the colour. I then used some light texture paste on the bird stencil. While the texture paste was still wet I sprinkled different colours of embossing powder over it.  After I heated the embossing powder I used Posca acrylic markers to add colour to the branch, and the eyes, the beaks and the tails of the bird. I stamped the background with the leaf stamps and coloured the leaves using Posca acrylic pens and some script around the edge. Where the colour was very dark I used a little bleach to remove some of it before painting with the posca pens.

Hi everyone I have a mixed media card for you today.

I tore off some pieces of text paper and stuck them to the base card usingsome matt media. When it was dry I painted over the whole are with some watered down gesso so that the print on the paper would still show through. I stamped the background with a mix of stamps and then sprayed distress oxide sprays in blues and browns. I used white texture paste through the stencil randomly over the background. The texture paste pick up the colour from the base layer so it's not so it blends in with the background. I also rubbed pewter gilding wax over the stenciling. When my background was finished i stamped the bird on water colour paper coloured it with watercolour crayons and fussy cut the image. I went round the edge with a black pen to mask any of my bad fussy cutting.

It's been a while since I've pulled out my texture pastes and gesso so I thought it would be fun to make a grungy mixed media Christmas card for you today.

I used a large tag and adhered rice paper to it using some matt medium as a glue. I painted over the image on the rice paper with some gesso and wiped the excess off to give a dull muted effect. I stamped a Christmas script in blue randomly over the tag then stenciled the stars using light modeling paste. When the paste was dry I stenciled the Christmas Ornament again in the light modeling paste. Light modeling paste when it dries can be coloured with watercolour paints. I used Finetec metallic paints for the ornament and the stars. I stamped the holly sprig and coloured it using Posca acrylic pens and added some glossy accent to the red berries. Before attaching the tag to the card base I used the Christmas script along the edge.

Hi Everyone, it's Christine here with a mixed media card.

I stenciled the background using the Mandala Quad stencil and texture paste. I then glued a piece of textured printed tissue paper to the card with Matte Medium then blended the inks over the surface. I stamped the flower image in Hero arts white ink then used white detail embossing powder. As the tissue paper had a little texture the embossing picked it up, you can see a little cross hatch pattern on the flower head. I stamped and cut out some of the "words to live by" stamp and placed them over the image.

If you want a sentiment stamped on a piece of card to stand out run the edge over the brush tip of a black pen or an ink pad helps define the outline. You can see the black framing each of the words.

Hi everyone, it's Christine here with a Mixed Media background and a Dragonfly.

I sprinkled some blue and green Nuance powders onto mixed media card and spritzed with water. I used a heat gun to dry the puddles of colour. Once it was all dry I stenciled texture paste through the stencil and again used the heat gun to dry it. I added more colour with Distress oxide sprays and spritzed with water to allow the colours to blend. I then added a little more interest to the background by blending distress oxide through the diamond stencil and stamping the mandalas on the edge of the card.

The Dragon fly was stamped on card coloured with pencils and fussy cut.

HOW TO:
- Apply structure paste through a stencil and leave to dry.
- Apply Nuance colors to the background.
- Stamp the flower onto a seperate piece of cardstock, color it as shown and fussycut it.
- Use a black marker to emphasize the edges of the stencilled structure paste.
- Assemble the flower to the background to the card base.
DONE.

Hi Everyone, it's Christine here with my very first Art Journal page, forgive me if it's a bit messy but I was having fun and didn't really know where to stop.

I first used crackle paste with one of the Magenta mandala stencils then texture paste with the old lace. Once all the stencilling was dry I gesso'd the whole page.

I sprayed the page with nuance sprays and let everything dry.  I stencilled the birds on the branch with texture paste and painted with Fine Tec watercolours. I used some printed tissue paper and coloured the back before sticking it with matte medium. I then added some random stamping to bring the areas together.


Salut tout le monde, c'est Christine ici avec ma toute première page de journal d'art, pardonnez-moi si c'est un peu brouillon mais je m'amusais et ne savais pas vraiment où m'arrêter. J'ai d'abord utilisé de la pâte à craqueler avec l'un des pochoirs de mandala de Magenta puis de la pâte de texture avec la vieille dentelle. Une fois que tout le pochoir était sec, j'ai mis du gesso sur toute la page. J'ai vaporisé la page avec différentes couleurs et laissé le tout sécher. J'ai utilisé le pochoir d'oiseaux sur la branche avec de la pâte de texture et peint à l'aquarelle Fine Tec. J'ai utilisé du papier de soie imprimé et coloré le dos avant de le coller avec un support mat. J'ai ensuite ajouté des étampes d'une manière aléatoire pour rapprocher les zones.
