Hello crafty people,

Miranda here.....Hope you all had some peaceful Christmas days.

I have another Christmassy post but not in traditional colors.

And with one of my favorite techniques, embossing, watercoloring technique and decoupage. This was also one of the workshop cards which were made by the participants. This is an online workshop(Dutch spoken) which is still available.

I have made two similar cards but one with gold embossing and another using silver. I have colored with Tombow markers which are great to use for this technique.

Direct to rubber technique on the folk art tile using the same markers and some water spritzing.

Hope you like my take on these two cards.......one card still has no sentiment so it could be used also for another occasion.

Hi Everyone, I have a super fast card for you today, perfect for the Make and Mail process just before Christmas 😅. I stamped the image on White cardstock coloured with pencils and a touch of glitter pen  on the wrapping and the box, and then embossed the card. The Embossing folder I used just embosses the leaves and berries round the outside framing the image. There are lots of Embossing folders out there that can do this.

Hello Magenta Friends! Cassandra here today sharing an stencil ink blended and embossed card.

I began this card by taping the Birch Tree stencil on a piece of cardstock cut to the same size of the stencil. Using Distress inks, I ink blended from lightest to darkest blues (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Salty Ocean, & Faded Jeans) for the trees background. Next, I used a brown Stabilo All pencil with some water to fill in the notches on the trees, a graphite All pencil with water for the side left side shadows, and a regular pencil for tree limb definition on the right. Then, the stencil is removed and realigned to the back of the panel and run through a Big Shot machine using an emboss pad and plate to texturize the background. Next, I trimmed the panel and cut out an oval sized for the owl from the back of the panel. Positioning the panel on a cardstock base with 1/4" border, I traced the oval to mark where to stamp the owl. The owl was first stamped with Antique Linen Distress ink and the ink was moved with a water brush. Once dry, the owl was re-stamped with Vintage Photo Distress ink. Shading and darkening was done with Brown and Black All pencils. The panel was then mounted to cardboard and adhered to the card base. Lastly, the sentiment was white heat emboss stamped on thin black cardstock strips and adhered to the card.

Miranda here....writing my last post for this year. On to the new year 2023!

With new chances, challenges, beautiful moments and lots of creativity and the most important thing of all, good health.....

 This card you have already seen in the Christmas post from the 25th. And I have also a 2nd one with the same technique but different colors which I will post soon.

I have used a lovely poinsettia stencil for the background. Another one on the small square piece in the front of the card, Nuance pigment powders and of course some stamps too.

I spattered with some acrylic inks on the background too. On the edges of the card I have used a gold acrylic marker with some lovely shine.

Hi everyone, I'm here with two quick cards both have berry blossom tags, one a little cleaner and simpler than the other. I stamped the berry blossom flower on white card stock and coloured them with some metallic Finetec watercolour paints then used a tag die and cut two tags.

The first card I embossed a piece of white card with a music score embossing folder, the tag was over stamped with the Christmas Song stamp and then the tag attached to the embossed surface.  

The second card I embossed the background with a wood grain embossing folder and blended some distress inks over the surface. I stamped the Christmas song and the holly on the background, coloured the holly in and added glossy accents to the berries. Because I stamped the holly after I embossed it, I used a black pen to complete the image where the stamp missed the background. Yes, I know I should have stamped it before I embossed it but I'm sure many of you are like me and allow your work to just evolve and not always in the correct order😅. I blended some distress inks around the edge of the tag and again stamped the Christmas Song over the berry blossom images. The blending over the background and the tag gives it a much more distressed look.

Hi Everyone, it's Christine here with an easy mixed media background and this pretty bird.

To make the card I tore a piece of ledger paper and stuck it to some card stock using matt medium. 

When it was dry I painted over it with gesso to mute the colour of the ledger paper which was quite dark. 

When that dried I did a little background stamping along the edge with a script stamp and used an embossing folder to create some texture on the surface. 

I swiped distress inks over the embossed area and added a little stamping to the background. 

I then tore two of the edges to add extra texture, to make the edge stand out I blended distress inks around all of the edges. 

I stamped the bird on watercolour paper, coloured it and fussy cut it out before sticking it to the background.

J’ai retrouvé cette carte faite il y a des années avec un bouquet victorien que j’aime toujours autant. Il a été étampé en noir sur papier cartonné beige, mis en couleur aux crayons. L’originalité de ce montage vient de ce que le rectangle de carton au complet a été couvert de colle à embosser et poudre transparentes, chauffé, laissé refroidir, puis recouvert de colle et poudre… 2-3 fois de plus. Cela donne l’impression d’être en face d’une tuile de céramique, surtout après un certain temps car l’embossage a tendance à craqueler plus ou moins.

I found this card made years ago with a Victorian bouquet that I still love so much. It was stamped in black on beige cardstock, colored with pencils. The originality of this card comes from the fact that the entire rectangle of cardstock was covered with clear embossing ink and powder, heated, left to cool, then covered with ink and powder… 2-3 more times. It gives the impression of being in front of a ceramic tile, especially after a while because the embossing tends to crack more or less.
