Hi Everyone welcome the 2022. Now that Christmas and New Year are over it's time to get back to the craft room for some creativity time 👍

In an attempt to do a little cleaning up I went through a lot of my gelli prints trying to make room for some new ones, it's one of my never ending piles🙈.

I stamped the script, feather and small maple leaf on the background in Versafine inks then stamped this beautiful Boreal Owl. I coloured the owl using watercolour pens and added touches of white Signo pen for highlights.

 Hi Everyone, it's Christine here playing with this sweet bird stamp.

My background is a gelli print which I stamped the peacock feather on the acrylic paint on the  gelli plate before I lifted the print. When you stamp on the gelli plate you actuall lift the paint off and leave the imprint image. I used a textured linen card stock which added to the texture on the lifted print. If you use this technique remember to have some spare card so you can stamp the image and not waste the paint.

I stamped the branch in Versafine Clair (Nocturn) and added the script in Ranger archival ink (Watering can) randomly over the card. The bird was stamped on the base card then again on watercolour card. I coloured the image with watercolour pencils and fussy cut it out. 

I like to stamp the image on my base card first because if you have any fine detail that's difficult to fussy cut you can just cut through and not worry about it. If you look at the birds feet they are on the base card, I didn't want to fussy cut them out so I cut them off. I also outlined the edge of my image with a brush tip marker to remove any white bits that were badly cut. I'm such a cheater when it comes to fussy cutting😀

just a tiny bit of color on the diecut.

Nuance makes for colorful backgrounds. You just need a tiny bit of Nuance on an acrylic block and a lot of misted water. This way they are not too dark to stamp on.

 I heat embossed the wire in white. 

Les poudres Nuances sont faites pour faire des arrières-plans colorés.  Vous n'avez besoin que d'un peu de poudres sur un bloc d'acrylique et beaucoup d'eau vaporisée.  De cette façon ce n'est pas trop foncé pour ajouter des étampes.  J'ai embossé en blanc le motif de broche à poules.

Hello there,

Today, I have a card which was very labour intensive but worth the effort. I love all ' winged' things........like birds, butterflies, angels but also feathers!

I did use the embossed ornament as a center piece and from there I positioned all the feathers around it......

I did stamp the feathers(a large and small one) using water based markers, some water spritzing and coloring with these markers. After drying I fussy cut all the feathers and cut real feathery edges. It's a special technique where you keep your scissor in a certain angle where you kind of ' scrape' the paper. Difficult to explain......I searched for it on the internet but could not find it anywhere.....I believe it's called Canadian cutting technique. Maybe anyone of you knows?

Well you can imagine looking at this that it took a while........but I enjoyed creating it.

Aujourd'hui, j'ai une carte qui demande beaucoup de travail mais qui en vaut la peine. J'aime toutes les choses "ailées" ... comme les oiseaux, les papillons, les anges mais aussi les plumes!

J'ai utilisé l'ornement en relief comme pièce centrale et de là j'ai placé toutes les plumes autour de lui ......

J'ai étampé les plumes (une grande et une petite) à l’aide de marqueurs à base d’eau, d’eau vaporisée et de colorant avec ces marqueurs. Après avoir séché, j'ai découpé délicatement toutes les plumes et coupé de véritables bords en plumes. C'est une technique spéciale où vous gardez vos ciseaux dans un certain angle où vous «grattez» le papier. Difficile à expliquer ...... je l'ai cherché sur internet mais je n'ai pas pu le trouver... Je crois que cela s'appelle la technique de coupe canadienne. Peut-être que quelqu'un d'entre vous sait?

Eh bien, vous pouvez imaginer que cela a pris du temps ........ mais j'ai bien aimé le processus.

Tranquil Tuesday with Jane / Les mardis tranquilles avec Jane

Some intuitive collage, painting and stamping today, as I really did not know where I was going with this art journal page when I started.

Collages intuitifs, peinture et étampage aujourd'hui, car je ne savais vraiment pas où j'allais avec cette page de journal d'art quand j'ai commencé.

I collaged some previously painted and crumpled deli paper onto an 8" x 5 1/4" piece of watercolor paper with matte medium, then covered it with clear gesso. I used  chalk paint through the Field of Flowers and Feathers stencils to add more visual texture. I stamped and heat embossed the Sparrow Sketch and Large Feather, then painted all around the images, excluding the background. I used a white pen through the Raindrops stencil then painted each raindrop individually. I then stamped and heat embossed the Kindness sentiment and finally, I inked around the edges of the page.

   

J'ai collé du papier de charcuterie préalablement peint et froissé sur un morceau de papier aquarelle de 8 "x 5 1/4" avec un support mat, puis je l'ai recouvert de gesso transparent. J'ai utilisé de la peinture à la craie à travers les pochoirs de fleurs et de plume pour ajouter une texture visuelle. J'ai étampé et embossé le croquis d'oiseau et la grande plume, puis j'ai peint tout autour des images, à l’exception du fond. J'ai utilisé un stylo blanc à travers le pochoir de gouttes puis j'ai peint chaque goutte de pluie individuellement. J'ai ensuite étampé et embossé le texte et finalement, j'ai encré les bords de la page.
