Hi everyone, I've been playing with some light texture paste and embossing powders.

I sprayed some distress inks onto watercolour paper, when it was dry I splashed water and bleach over it to remove some of the colour. I then used some light texture paste on the bird stencil. While the texture paste was still wet I sprinkled different colours of embossing powder over it.  After I heated the embossing powder I used Posca acrylic markers to add colour to the branch, and the eyes, the beaks and the tails of the bird. I stamped the background with the leaf stamps and coloured the leaves using Posca acrylic pens and some script around the edge. Where the colour was very dark I used a little bleach to remove some of it before painting with the posca pens.

Hi everyone, I have another cling wrap background for you today. This time I used sprayed inks on the cling wrap and placed it on watercolour card. I lightly mist the watercolour card before I place the cling wrap on it, this allows the cling wrap to move around easlily on the surface. Watercolour card absorbs more of the colour and gives a much darker print where the cling wrap was placed.

Hi Everyone, it's Christine here, I've been playing with some of the new Dina Wakley gloss sprays on a gelli plate using  Kate Crane's instructions. You can't see it from the photographs but there is a gloss finish on the surface from the sprays. 

One thing I found was the card stock will stick to the gelli plate if you leave card on too long before pulling your print. I used Ranger archival ink to stamp the images and Posca Acrylic Paint pens to colour them.

For my first card I fussy cut the large daisy and glued on a colourful flat gem at the centre. I also used the "Words to Live by" stamp which I love, it's the perfect stamp for cutting up to use the individual words.


Salut tout le monde, c'est Christine ici, j'ai joué avec certains des nouveaux sprays brillants Dina Wakley sur une plaque gelli en utilisant les instructions de Kate Crane. Vous ne pouvez pas le voir sur les photos mais il y a une finition brillante sur la surface. Une chose que j'ai trouvée était que le papier cartonné collera à la plaque gelli si vous laissez la carte trop longtemps avant de tirer votre impression. J'ai utilisé de l'encre Archival pour étamper les images et des stylos de peinture acrylique Posca pour les colorer. Pour ma première carte, j'ai taillé la grande marguerite et collé un bijou plat coloré au centre. J'ai aussi utilisé l'étampe "Words to Live by" que j'aime, c'est l'étampe parfaite à découper des mots individuels.

My second card is an off cut of my gloss spray background, I'll add the sentiment later.


Ma deuxième carte est une coupe de mon fond de spray brillant, j'ajouterai le sentiment plus tard.

My third card I cut out some the "words to live by" and used a piece of my gelli print background. My Team mate Ellie Knol used some torn edges in her designs recently and loved the idea, so this is my version. I used a back pen to darken the torn edges so they stood out on the white background.


Ma troisième carte, j'ai découpé quelques "mots pour vivre" et utilisé un morceau de mon fond d'impression gelli. Ellie Knol DT chez Magenta a récemment utilisé des bords déchirés dans ses créations et a adoré l'idée, c'est donc ma version. J'ai utilisé un stylo arrière pour assombrir les bords déchirés afin qu'ils se détachent sur le fond blanc.

This is all there is to this card:
a colorful background,
 gorgeous new stamps,
some accents with watercolor pencils
and a white acrylic marker.

The numbers have been stamped with Distress Oxide after masking the main image.

Bubbly flowers... Fleurs pétillantes...

I used bleach to make the flower whitish again, and also added some white acrylic paint as they were still very yellow. 

J'ai utilisé de l'eau de Javel pour rendre la fleur encore blanchâtre, et j'ai aussi ajouté de la peinture acrylique blanche car elles étaient encore très jaunes.

The background: one from my stash, playing with pearly spray inks and water drops.

Le fond: un de ma réserve, jouant avec des encres nacrées et des gouttes d'eau.

I added color and white to the leaves and background bubbles (own design) with watercolor pencils.
I splattered in the background with yellow ecoline . 

J'ai ajouté de la couleur et du blanc aux feuilles et aiux bulles d'arrière-plan (mon propre design) avec des crayons aquarelle.

J'ai éclaboussé dans le fond avec l'écoline jaune.

Diecuts can be fun .. Les découpes sont agréables...

.. but the waste of it too! 
.. et leurs retailles aussi!

I've used the waste part of the cardstock from cutting with a die for this card.
Just cut it to size to fit over a colorful background. 
You can see (part of) the diecut itself on the right hand side.
Fussycut the flower and assemble it as shown!

LOVE this effect, and it's a FUN way to create a card!

J'ai utilisé la partie retaille du carton découpé avec un emporte-pièce pour cette carte.
Juste à couper pour que le tout s'ajuste à un fond coloré.
Vous pouvez voir une partie de la découpe elle-même à droite de la carte.
Découpez grossièrement la fleur et assemblez!

J'ADORE cet effet et c'est une façon amusante de créer une carte!

Create with your heart... - Créez avec votre coeur

HOW TO: Create a background with shimmery sprayinks. Stamp the foliage image with black and heat emboss it in clear.  Take away the color with bleach. Create a mask for the foliage and position that onto the image. Stamp with a script in black as shown. Use distress inks to sponge over the background. Use watercolor pencils to add depth around the stamped image. Add white touches with a white acrylic marker. 

 Créez un fond avec des encres scintillantes en vaporisateur.  Etampez les feuilles en noir et embossez en clair.  A l'aide d'eau de Javel enlevez la couleur à l'intérieur des feuilles.  Faites un masque des feuilles et déposé-le sur les feuilles embossées.  Etampez le texte en noir tel que la photo.  Utilisez des encres Distress avec une éponge sur le fond.  Utilisez des crayons aquarelles pour ajouter de la profondeur autour de l'image étampée.  Ajoutez des touches de blanc avec un marqueur acrylique.

The cat.. - Le chat

The background paper has been made with Walnut Spray inks from Tsukineko and salt crystals.
To create the depth you will have to use a MISTI. Stamp the cat in a brown first, then add touches of black with a distress marker. Add white with white acrylic paint, and a white acrylic marker. Assemble as shown. 

Le fond a été fait avec de l'encre Walnut en vaporisateur de Tsukineko et des cristaux de sel.
Pour créer un effet de profondeur il faut utiliser un MISTI.  Etampez d'abord le chat en brun, puis ajouter des petites touches de noir avec un marqueur Distress.  Ajouter du blanc avec de la peinture acrylique blanche et un marqueur blanc.  Assemblez selon le modèle.

Backgrounds with stencils... - Arrière-plan avec des pochoirs...

Spray inks and the beautiful 12x12 stencil from Magenta (and some salt crystals) make for beautiful backgrounds!
(the butterfly is not from Magenta).

Des encres vaporisées et un beau pochoir de 12 x 12 de Magenta, ajoutez du gros sel et vous obtiendrez de jolis arrières plans pour vos cartes (le papillon n'est pas de Magenta).

Dream and Reality ... Rêve et réalité

I made this by spraying some Colorwash from Ranger over the gorgeous template (it's 12x12), and then adding some salt to the wet inks.
When dry, finish as shown.

J'ai commencé par vaporiser du "Colorwash" de Ranger sur ce beau pochoir (c'est un 12 x 12) et ensuite j'ai ajouté du gros sel sur la couleur encore mouillée.  Une fois sec, voici le résultat.
