Hello Magenta Friends! Cassandra here today sharing a Valentine watercolour duo.

For the first version, using a stamp positioning platform, the Rose Puppy was first stamped with Vintage Photo Distress ink, Worn Lipstick Distress ink for the rose and captioned heart, Mowed Lawn distress ink for the stem and leaf, and Black Soot Archival for the caption. Next, they were each watercoloured with their same inks. Then, after masking off the "Do small things" part of the sentiment stamp, it was stamped with Black Soot Archival ink. Once, all was dry, the Crosshatched Heart was stamped with Worn Lipstick Distress ink wiping away part of the ink for a faded effect along the inside. Then using a blending brush, a light amount of Worn Lipstick was blended all around the outside fading into the centre. Lastly, the border was edged with Worn Lipstick Distress ink and mounted on a card base. 

On the second version, the Rose Puppy was stamped and coloured with a Vintage Photo Distress Watercolor pencil and the stem and leaf was coloured with Peeled Paint Distress Watercolor Pencil. The heart background was achieved by masking off the corner heart of the 15 Heart stencil and using a mini blending brush with Saltwater Taffy Distress ink first. Then, a light blending with the same ink around the outside becoming lighter towards the centre. Lastly, splattering some water to break up the uniformity and add interest to the blended background.

Hello there,

Miranda here with some wintery scene. I had this background staring at me and I remembered this beautiful new tree stamp from the last DT batch. This background need not much because it is beautiful as it is.....I have made it using fluid inks and just let it flow on the paper.

This is such a beautiful more or less photographic stamp.....I was surprised..

I inked up the tree using a purple and blue ink. I stamped the flock of geese using a soft purple ink. Then I used some white acrylic ink for some spattering all over like a snowy storm.

J’avais fait ces panneaux noirs étampés en blanc et ornés de crayon de couleur, malheureusement la carte avait été partiellement déchirée. J’ai pu en sauver une partie et j’ai refait le montage, en assemblant le tout sur une carte mauve. 

I had made these black panels stamped in white and decorated with colored pencil, unfortunately the card had been partially torn. I was able to save some of it, putting it all together on a purple card.

Hi everyone, this week I have some cards with Pearl-Ex Mica powders and these beautiful detailed stamps.

I'm not sure if you are all aware, Pearl-Ex Mica Powders need a binder to hold them to the substrate, when mixed with water the mica powders will wipe off when dry. The binder I used for these cards was Heat and Stick. I stamped the image using Versamark sprinkled Heat and Stick over it, then used the heat gun to melt it. Heat and stick stays tacky after heating and the Pearl-Ex binds to the it leaving a beautiful pearlized image.

On both cards I used two different colours of mica. These cards are really quick to make and have such a beautiful shine.

I LOVE to make cards from scrap pieces of paper. 
The card I've made is one from pieces of gelatine prints, edges of ledger paper other pieces of leftover backgrounds. 
I scraped a little gesso over the background with a palette knife, and finished it off with stamped script and also white accents and doodles with a white acrylic marker.
That's it, lol.

Les beaux dimanches de Nathalie / Nathalie’s Sunny Sundays

Comme toujours en hiver, il vient un moment où je manque cruellement de fleurs dans ma vie! Alors j’ai choisi d’en colorier quelques unes, un avant-goût du printemps encore tellement lointain… Sur un fond de papier aquarelle colorié de poudres Nuance, j’ai étampé ce motif en noir (à l’encre permanente). Puis j’ai tracé des touches de marqueurs Tombows dans les fleurs, et je les ai étalées avec un pinceau mouillé pour un effet d’aquarelle.  J’ai ajouté un peu de marqueur blanc dans le coeur des fleurs, puis j’ai éclaboussé des gouttelettes d’aquarelle iridescente. 

As always in winter, there comes a time when I'm sorely lacking in flowers in my life! So I chose to color some of them, a foretaste of spring still so far away… On a background of watercolor paper colored with Nuance powders, I stamped this pattern in black (with permanent ink). Then I traced strokes of Tombows markers into the flowers, and smudged them with a wet brush for a watercolor effect. I added a bit of white marker in the heart of the flowers, then splattered iridescent watercolor droplets.

En fouillant dans un tiroir où se trouvent plein de projets plus ou moins abandonnés, j’ai retrouvé ces 4 bordures de papier glacé que j’avais coloriées d’encres à l’alcool, puis tracé un motif au pochoir, rehaussé de fin marqueur noir. 

Je les trouvais jolies, mais je n’avais pas su quoi faire avec et j’ai fini par décider de les coller sur un papier contrastant. Puis, comme ce n’était pas encore tout à fait à mon idée, j’ai pensé y ajouter un motif que j’ai étampé en mauve sur un cercle de papier cartonné blanc. J’ai légèrement colorié le contour en brossant un peu d’encre grise. Puis, comme il manquait encore quelque chose, j’ai étampé un texte que j’ai collé sur un papier mauve, puis placé en diagonale. Et voilà, je ne penserai plus à mes lisières, elles sont enfin utilisées!

While rummaging in a drawer where there are lots of more or less abandoned projects, I found these 4 pieces of glossy paper that I had colored with alcohol inks, then traced a stencil pattern, enhanced with fine marker black.

I thought they were pretty, but I hadn't known what to do with them and ended up deciding to stick them on a contrasting paper. Then, since it wasn't quite my idea yet, I thought of adding a design that I stamped in purple on a circle of white cardstock. I lightly colored the outline by brushing in some gray ink. Then, as something was still missing, I stamped a text that I stuck on purple paper, then placed diagonally. There you go, I won't think about my 4 paper pieces anymore, they are finally used!

Hi everyone, this week I created a scene within the leaf stencil and then cut out the leaf shape.

I blended some distress oxide inks in the leaf stencil, cut the image out and stamped the walking deer on the background. To add some interest on the leaf I use a script stamp spritzed with water, stamped and then lifted the water and colour using a piece of paper kitchen towel. To make the leaf stand out against the background I used a black brush marker to swipe the edge of the leaf. The background is one from my stash to which I added some stencil paste and stamping.

J’avais ce fond de papier aquarelle colorié de plusieurs couleurs de poudres Nuance qui avaient formé un ton grisâtre. J’ai étampé le motif en bleu foncé, l’ai ensuite ravivé de crayons de couleurs, et retracé ici et là de marqueur argenté. Puis j’ai ajouté un texte dans le même bleu foncé.

I had this watercolor paper background colored with several colors of Nuance powders that had formed a grayish tone. I stamped the pattern in dark blue, then revived it with colored pencils, and traced here and there with silver marker. Then I added some text in the same dark blue.
