Making a Classic Masculine Birthday Card - Une carte de fête masculine

Hi Everyone! Ginny here today, I love the classic images when I am making masculine birthday cards - I make a lot of them,  I do the cards for our church along with a big family and lots of friends. 

 I tend to be more conservative making the "man" cards using traditional images

 and deep rich man colors!

Here is my card:

Bonjour!  C'est Ginny aujourd'hui qui vous présente cette carte.  J'aime les images classiques pour faire des cartes plutôt destinées aux hommes.  J'en fais plusieurs, car je fais des cartes pour mon église et aussi pour une grosse famille et beaucoup d'amis.  J'ai tendance à être plus conservatrice lorsque je fais une carte pour un homme en utilisant des images traditionnelles et les riches couleurs plus masculines.
Voici donc ma carte:

For this card, I picked one of the Magenta classic images.  This beautiful Owl was such a pleasure to color.   I actually had to do it twice the first time I grabbed the wrong ink pad and used a watercolor on a memento ink: Which caused the image to just about dissolve.  I liked how it came out but, that was not what I wanted for this card! So instead of stamping out a new image, I just switched to alcohol markers as I stamped it twice ( I always do).

Pour cette carte, j'ai choisi une image classique de Magenta.  Ce bel oiseau a été un plaisir à mettre en couleur.  J'ai dû refaire deux fois puisque la première impression a été faite avec de l'encre memento et l'aquarelle a fait déteindre l'image.  Comme ce n'était pas l'effet recherché j'ai donc recommencé.  Par contre j'ai aimé l'effet.  Comme j'étampe toujours deux fois, j'ai recommencé avec des marqueurs à l'alcool.

Here is the difference: This image was done in Alcohol markers the second in watercolor.  I did use the second image to make my owl and create the moon effect.

Voici la différence:  à gauche mis en couleur avec des marqueurs à l'alcool et à droite avec de l'aquarelle. J'ai donc utilisé la deuxième impression pour faire le hibou et j'ai créé un effet de lune.

              

    

I created layers using the Birchbark wrapping paper, 

mirror paper  and a page from an old book all from stash:

J'ai ensuite monté mon image sur un papier d'emballage imitant le bois, puis un papier miroir et une page d'un vieux livre:

I purchased these fun pads from Amazon to keep my swatches together - Love them!

J'ai acheté sur Amazon ces petits blocs pour garder mes échantillons ensemble... Je les adore!

 I still have this guy to create with, I think he will become an ATC!

Et puis j'ai toujours un hibou pour créer sans doute une ATC!
