Treats on Tuesday with Christine - La gâterie du mardi avec Christine

Hi there, it Christine here at Magenta. This week I pulled out an Alcohol ink on Yupo background from my stash to play with. This background has been there for a while, I really didn't like the flow of colours but hadn't gotten around to working with it. 

Bonjour, c'est Christine ici à Magenta. Cette semaine, j'ai sorti une encre à base d'alcool sur mon fond Yupo pour jouer avec. Ce fond existe depuis un moment, je n’aimais vraiment pas le flot de couleurs mais je n’étais pas parvenu à le travailler.

  

Background stamps are perfect for toning down a lot of colour and bring everything together.

Les étampes d’arrière-plan sont parfaites pour atténuer beaucoup de couleurs et tout rassembler.

I used my MISTI to hold the Yupo in place and stamped the background flower image using Versafine Clair. Once I was happy with the image I used clear embossing powder to make the stamping pop against the Alcohol ink background. I die cut my butterfly out of an off cut of the  background to blend in with the flowers.

Just a little note, the heavy Yupo withstands heat embossing better than the light weight which may curl under the heat.

J'ai utilisé mon MISTI pour maintenir le Yupo en place et étampé l'image de la fleur d'arrière-plan à l'aide de Versafine Clair. Une fois satisfaite de l'image, j'ai utilisé une poudre à embosser transparente pour faire ressortir l'étampage sur le fond d'encre à l'alcool. J'ai  découpé à l'emporte-pièce mon papillon dans une retaille de l'arrière-plan pour se fondre dans les fleurs.

Juste une petite note, le Yupo plus épais résiste mieux à l'embossage à la chaleur que le grammage léger qui peut s'enrouler sous la chaleur.
