My background is torn rice paper glued down with Gel Matt Medium.
Mon arrière-plan est du papier de riz déchiré et collé avec un Medium Gel Mat.
After the
glue dried I went over the surface with Gesso to mute the colours a
little.

I stencilled the birds with texture paste and then sprinkled embossing glaze over it and immediately heat set the powder. As the powder melts it bubbles, such a cool effect.
I stamped, water-coloured and fussy cut the flowers and popped them up on foam dots then use a script stamp to add some interest to the outer edge of the card.
J'ai appliqué une pâte de texture sur le pochoir d'oiseaux et puis j'ai saupoudré de "embossing glaze" par-dessus et j'ai immédiatement chauffé la poudre. La poudre en fondant fait des bulles, un effet amusant.
J'ai étampé, mis en couleur à l'aquarelle les fleurs puis je les ai découpé à la main et j'ai utilisé des points de mousse pour ajouter de la dimension et ajouté une étampe texte pour ajouter de l'intérêt sur le pourtour de la carte.

Your torn rice paper background is gorgeous Christine! Love the effect. And what a great tip for adding a layer of gesso to soften the colours. The embossing paste with glaze is awesome! And your codloured and fussy-cut flower are so pretty! Great card!

Rice paper? I’ve only eaten rice paper 😂... super fun idea. This card looks amazing. So much texture and dimension. The flowers are coloured and just pop beautifully.

Your card is absolutely stunning. The pieced rice paper background reminds me of a class Helene taught at Art 'n Soul years ago using a mixed media board as the base. I might have to try your technique for a junk journal page swap this month. thanks so much for sharing; it's all wonderful.
