Hi Everyone, it's Christine here with my last Christmas Card. I'm sure I'm not the only one making and mailing cardsđ
I sprayed the background with Nuance powders mixed with water on hot press watercolour paper. When it was dry I used the stencil and Distress oxide ink to create a very subtle background. I stamped the ornament using Versafing Claire (Nocturn) and used bleach to remove the background colour from the stamped image. I used my script stamp over the ornament and the background and then painted the ornament using metallic and pearlized Gouache watercolours. Gouache paints will cover the stamping so I put the card back in my stamp positioner and re-stamped the image. I also added glossy accents to the berries.
I sprayed the whole image with Shimmer craft spray -Sparkle which creates a beautiful shimmer on the card, you can just see it in the picture below.
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

As the lucky recipient of Christine's beautiful card, I can attest to the beautiful shimmer on the background. I love the subtlety of the background - perfect setting for the ornament and holly which have a great metallic sheen to them.
I so enjoy reading how you create these amazing mixed media cards Christine x. So unique and absolutely beautiful .....Lucky Susan x.
What a beautiful shimmery blue background Christine and the diamond pattern looks great, also love the contrast of the bright yellow on the bauble, and the lovely green holly leaves and red berries with the added gloss. x
This is a beautiful bauble! Love the shimmer and shine! And the background is amazing as always!
Beautiful bauble Christmas card. Love the shimmer and those shiny berries. Great bleaching and watercoloring with gouache paints, too.
Beautiful card Christine! Love the shimmer on the background with the subtle stenciling. The bauble really shines with the metallic gouache paints Christine. Love it! xx
