Hi Everyone, it's Christine here with an acrylic paint background and poppies coloured with pencil.
I created my background using a technique I learned from a Kate Crane video on this years Wanderlust year long on line course. The basic technique is to take acrylic paint and different size brushes and pens and make lots of overlapping circles, scribbles, dots and marks not leaving a lot of white space. You then cut the sheet into squares, these are 1" X 1" to fit onto and A2 card and then mounted them on a black mat.
I stamped the poppy image on the squares in black Versafine ink using a stamp positioner and then stamped my poppy again on white card stock. I coloured it using pencils and then fussy cut the flowers.
A little tip when you fussy cut images- run the cut edges of the image over a black brush tip pen. This makes the cut edge black so you don't see the imperfections of your fussy cutting.
The whole image was placed on a gold mat before mounting on the card.
