Hi Everyone, it's Christine here with an old but fun technique sometimes called Joseph's coat.
I blended Distress colours on white card stock, and added a layer with a stencil. I then stamped my flower image with Versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
I blended black distress ink over the whole page varying the depth of colour and then wiped it off the embossed image. This allows the base layer colour to show through. I added some stenciling and stamping on the black for additional interest.
You can just see the stenciling in lower portion of the leaves.

Beautiful - love the colours showing through the heat embossing. And great stencilling in the background.
This is so dramatic with the beautiful floral image and the colors peeking through the black! I think it's time to try this technique!
Cool technique with beautiful dramatic results. The stencilling was a great addition.
Beautiful and love this technique too, fantastic results. xx
WOW! At first I thought that you used a black card and created graphics on it. Thank you for the description of this card, it is surprising and very effective. I also love how you added a little color to the flowers, it makes the card eye-catching.
hugs,
