Hi Everyone, it's Christine here with a Distress Oxide background and some stamping and fussy cutting.
I have lots of backgrounds in my stash so often I pull one out and let it inspire me to use stamps to create my car, this one is covered with Distress Oxide sprays.
I stamped the butterfly then stamped it a second time on watercolour card then coloured it. I fussy cut the image and adhered it to the the card over my previous stamped image.
I stamped the leaf and watercoloured it allowing the base layer of distress oxide colour to mix with some Distress green ink, Distress Oxides inks become very creamy when reactivated with water. I then place the card back in the MISTI to re stamp the image and give it a little more definition. I did this for each of the leaf twigs.
I used one of the mandala stencils with distress oxide ink on the background masking the leaves and butterfly and also added a touch of the script stamp using archival ink.
I used yellow liquid pearls to the butterfly wings for depth of colour and dimension and clear glossy accents over the leaves. The green hue is from the glossy accent picking up the colour in the leaves.

A great background for this pretty butterfly!
Wonderful background and love the muted effect and such a fabulous card x.
Such a beautiful complex background - love all the elements! And such a lovely butterfly.
Beautiful mix of elements for your layered background Christine! Beautiful butterfly and leaves!
Beautiful stamped and stenciled background for your gorgeous colored and fussy butterfly, my friend. TFS Christine....Love and Hugs...Nancy
Your layering of different products is always incredible. Beautiful card.
Another background that impresses me. In these brighter areas, I have the impression that underneath, under the leaves and the mosaic, there is a pearly, light-reflecting surface. such an amazing feeling and such a beautiful background for this butterfly.
hugs,

Such a pretty butterfly against the amazing mixed media background, Christine!
