Treats on Tuesday with Christine - La gâterie du mardi avec Christine

Hi Everyone, it's Christine here with blossom crescent flowers on a marbled background which I pulled out of my stash. The marbled background is inks on water technique (Suminagashi) which on a second pull gave me very blurred soft lines.
I stamped my flower and created a rectangular frame around the flowers (I die cut a rectangle using acetate). I initially used black to outline the frame but wasn't happy with it so went over it in silver. The silver/black gave me an antique effect on the colour.
I masked the flower then placed the blossom stencil and the rectangle stencil over the top. Using some distress inks I added a little detail to the area inside the rectangle. When I was happy with the colour I removed the blossom stencil and used the rectangle and stamped the script.
The background was already very busy so I just wanted to build up the central area with stamping and stenciling. I used pencils to colour in the flowers and to create some shadowing around the edge of the flowers.
I hope you like the framing and layering of stencils.

Stunning card! So beautifully you played your marbled background with flowers from a template and flowers painted with crayons. It looks so amazing and I love the strong color accent.

Amazing design. LOVE the marbled background and how you've added visual dimension by creating a rectangle panel in the middle of the card. It looks as though it's poppped up! Your spray of flowers are gorgeous. The colour and the pencil colouring are just perfect!
