Hello Magenta Friends! Cassandra here today with an art journal page that is sure to brighten your day with its fresh greens and sunshine yellow flowers.
I started with an 8 x 6" mixed media page from my loose page art journal. Placing the page in a stamp positioning tool, I second generation stamped the Un Simple Regard stamp quote along the left side with Black Soot Archival ink. Next, I white heat emboss stamped the Petal Trio flowers. Then, I added some watered down Grass Green Nuance powder to the inner part of the petals so as to make them look like snowdrops. Using a VersaMark ink pen, I added the ink to the petals and then clear heat embossed them so they would resist further inking of the background to come.
I spritzed the panel with water and added some Grass Green Nuance powder to it with a watercolour brush. I added some onto my craft mat and pounced it into it between drying layers so to give it some depth of texture. Next, I used Mowed Lawn Distress ink to stamp and watercolour the Tranquil Buds. While that was drying, I heat emboss stamped the Happy part of the large script Happy Birthday onto cardstock and fussy cut it out.
I used Faber-Castell Big Brush markers to stamp the Doodle Flower onto white cardstock and then watercoloured it with Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint Distress Ink. Once I was happy with the way they looked, I fussy cut them out, edged them with a Black Sharpie, and adhered them to the page. Next, I stamped the Find Your part of the Find Your Happy Place Stamp with Black StazOn ink and then glued down the fussy cut embossed Happy. Lastly, I fussy cut out the butterfly from a piece of scrap Magenta patterned paper. I darkened the green with a pencil crayon, added some glitter glue and once dry, I adhered it to the page. A little buffing of the clear emboss of petal trio flowers with a cloth to remove any ink from its surface and it was done.
