Treats on Tuesday with Christine - La gâterie du mardi avec Christine

Hi Everyone, it's Christine here using the Bloom crescent again.
This time I stamped the image on Kraft card stock and used white Gouache paint to colour the white areas. I followed Debby Hughes' tutorial on white highlights when colouring.
  • I stamped the image using Hero Arts Contour ink and painted parts of the petals and leaves with white Gouache, and used pencils to colour the rest of the flower. The stamens were painted with gold paint
  • I used a circle stencil to draw the circle then outlined it in gold paint.
  • I used white pencil and white Pan Pastels to colour the centre of the circle adding some grey as shadowing behind the flowers.
  • I then outlined the flower and touched up some of the white areas with a white Signo gel pen.
  • I used the small Star Daisy to fill in the background in Delicata Gold ink and used gold Pan Pastels to give a little gold shimmer over the stamped Daisy.
  • The happy Birthday was stamped in Versafine Clair (Nocturn)
  • The Pan Pastels were sealed with a pastel spray.

You can just see the gold shimmer in the background and the white edging around the flowers and leaves. The white gives them a little more of a 3D effect as it's a one layer card front.

Amazing design Christine. Your flowers are beautifully coloured. This is such a great way to add pencil colouring to coloured card stock. Thanks for sharing the link to Debby's tutorial. I love the way you continued your flower into the circle with the gold paint. And the daisy background is gorgeous with all that gold!
