Hello Magenta Friends! Cassandra here today sharing a seasonal watercolour stamped card. This weekend is Thanksgiving in Canada and this little beauty fits nicely for the occasion.
I used one of my favourite watercolour stamping techniques on Bristol Smooth paper. You definitely need a stamp positioning tool like MISTI for this technique. I loaded the leaves of the stamp with Spiced Marmalade Distress ink and then spritzed it with water before stamping on a 4 x 6 Bristol panel. Next, I used a thin waterbrush and pulled the colour from the tip down into the leaf. Then, I smooshed the ink cube onto a glass mat and picked up more of the saturated colour on the brush and dropped it in the leaves. Next, I re-stamped the leaves with Barn Door Distress ink while they are still wet so that the red does that watercolour thing and bleeds into the orange. I wait for the red to settle and the leaves to be set before stamping again with the Bard Door ink.
The same technique was used for the bird. The first colour layer was with Vintage Photo Distress ink. Once the was carried throughout with the water brush, the second colour used was Gathered Twigs. I used the leftover Spiced Marmalade ink from the glass mat with a little more water to splattered the card. Once dry, I gold heat emboss stamped the Gratitude and the with part of the With Sympathy. Then, I splattered on some Gold Shimmer Spritz and once dry, I trimmed the card down on two sides so it would fit a 4 x 6 kraft card base. I wrapped some hemp twine around it before popping it up on the base.
