Savvy Creations with Cassandra / Créations avisées avec Cassandra

Hello Magenta friends! Cassandra here today sharing this Spring Blooms Thank You card part 2 which is a stepped up level created using the same simple watercolouring stamping technique that I shared last month. You can see the post here

A silhouette stamp is ideal stamp for this watercolour technique. I placed a piece of 140lb cold press watercolour paper in a MISTI with the Spring Blooms stamp positioned where desired. I coloured the stamp image's leaves and stems directly with Light Green and Green Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. Then, I misted the stamp with a few spritzes of water before stamping it onto the watercolour paper. After cleaning off the stamp, I repeated the same steps using Cobalt Blue and Blue on the flowers and blooms. Next, I repositioned the stamp and repeated the steps a bunch of other times until I had many flowers. Once dry, I fussy cut them out and arranged them on a kraft cardbase with gold thread underneath. Then, I black heat emboss stamped the Thank You sentiment on vellum, fussy cut it and adhered it to the centre of the flower cluster. Lastly, I added a little blue glitter glue to the flowers.

Thanks Ellie and Christine! The stamping was the easy part. Did that in one stamp session while watching the news. The fussy cutting was over several at a leisurely pace while having my daughter who is home from university "catch me" me up on Youtube videos that she wanted to have me watch. The sentiment might seem difficult from the look but I find it really easy to do when you heat emboss on vellum especially if you emboss the image multiple times. You just follow the embossed edge and the vellum is really easy to manoeuvre for cutting. I left a small area attached between the y and a. I still have more flowers for another card or 2.
