Hi it's Christine here at Magenta, I have a pan pastel on gelli plate background and also some Gouache (pronounced gwash) paint to tell you about.

Bonjour, aujourd'hui c'est Christine et j'ai une carte faite avec des pan pastels sur un fond fait sur une "gelli plate" et un peu de gouache dont je veux vous parler.

My background was created using a stencil and pan pastels, once I lay down all my colour I used white acrylic paint for the print. I have two backgrounds this is the first pull, my second is a little more muted.

Le fond est fait en utilisant un pochoir et des "pan pastels". Une fois que j'ai appliqué toutes les couleurs, j'utilise de la peinture blanche pour l'impression. J'obtiens deux fonds, celui-ci est le premier, le deuxième est un peu plus effacé.

I painted my bird using Gouache paints and then fussy cut the image. Gouache paints are very opaque paints which can be thinned down and used as regular watercolours. I love the bright colours you get when using them.

J'ai peint l'oiseau avec de la gouache et découpé l'image à la main. Les peintures gouache sont très opaques et peuvent être diluées et utilisées comme de l'aquarelle. J'adore les couleurs vives que l'on obtient en les utilisant.
