Treats on Tuesday with Christine - La gâterie du mardi avec Christine

Hi Everyone, it's Christine here with my very first Art Journal page, forgive me if it's a bit messy but I was having fun and didn't really know where to stop.

I first used crackle paste with one of the Magenta mandala stencils then texture paste with the old lace. Once all the stencilling was dry I gesso'd the whole page.

I sprayed the page with nuance sprays and let everything dry.  I stencilled the birds on the branch with texture paste and painted with Fine Tec watercolours. I used some printed tissue paper and coloured the back before sticking it with matte medium. I then added some random stamping to bring the areas together.

Here are some close ups of the page.

Quelques détails.

What a wonderful blend of elements and techniques! Especially love the birds in the top left and the botanical stamping at the bottom right. Great slightly muted colours too!

I think a bit of messiness and a lot of fun is exactly the point of art journalling. Your page is really beautiful - such lovely spring colours and that crackled mandala is wonderful.
