Treats on Tuesday with Christine - La gâterie du mardi avec Christine

Hi Everyone, it's Christine here with a watercolour background on Black Mixed Media card stock.
I watercoloured and splattered a mix of colours on the black Mixed Media card heat drying between colours. I then stamped the background images in Distress oxide ink (speckled egg) and in my first card I stamped the flower with Versamark and then used white ultra-fine embossing powder.

Here is a close up of the watercoloured background.

For my second card I used White ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
White ink is never as white as white embossing powder. With this card I love the soft almost grey tone of the ink after heat embossing it.

I love how the muted colors and crisp white embossed flowers show on the first card and the softer embossing and background stamping on the second card! Two awesome designs!

Two different looks, but both equally dramatic and striking on the black MM paper... another unknown-to-me product.

Gorgeous watercolored background for your stamped and heat embossed images, Christine. TFS the close up too. You make me want to get out my Strathmore Black MM paper. TFS and always inspiring me, my friend. Love and Hugs..Nancy

I had no idea that DOX inks would show colours on black mixed media paper. Always learn so much from your posts Christine. And how cool that the black colour softens when heat embossed. Two beautiful cards Christine!

Two beautiful cards - fabulous backgrounds from the watercolours on the black mixed media cs. Great demonstration of the difference between white and clear embossing powder on a dark background.

Both cards are fabulous, Christine! I LOVE the watercolored black MM backgrounds! With the heat-embossed images, they're not only beautiful, but also so interesting! You can clearly see the difference of the effect of the inks and heat-embossing between the two.

Love your wonderful backgrounds Christine - I need to try this out - we don't often use black for our card designs!
