Savvy Creations with Cassandra / Créations avisées avec Cassandra

Hello Magenta Friends! Cassandra here today sharing a Hallowe'en themed card for a friend.

First, I used the Laces stencil and ran it through my Big Shot machine with cardstock to emboss the stencil pattern. Next, I used a sponge applicator and added Spiced Marmalade Distress ink to the patterned embossed surface. Then, I splattered tiny droplets onto it and let it do its magic. Once dry, I edged it with Black Soot Archival ink and then set it aside to dry thoroughly. While that was happening, I used the Cat stencil and an emboss ink applicator and heat embossed it with a mix of black emboss powder and black glitter onto a scrap piece of thick cardstock. I fuzzy cut the cat out after it was heat set. Next, I black heat emboss stamped the Hello sentiment onto vellum and then fussy cut that out too. Then, I wrapped black baker's twine around the distress inked cardstock and tied a bow. I used cereal board on the back of the cardstock to secure it to a cardbase and to not be impeded by the twine. I  popped the cat up with small pieces of leftover cereal board as I adhered it on so it would sit nicely above the twine. Lastly, after gluing on the hello sentiment, I added small jewels to complete the card.

Mira'cle Art with Miranda - Art Mira'cle avec Miranda

Hello there,

Miranda here...with some inky stencil fun............

I have been playing with several stencils using Distress Oxydes, lovely Magenta stamps and some resist embossing.......

I was inspired by Eileen Godwin and her lovely stencil art.......so I took some stencils, brushes and the Distress oxide colors; Shabby Shutters- Pistachio- Peacock feathers and Weathered wood.
I started using stencil 1 and let it fade out to the right side of the card, then I took some fragments of stencil 2 and finished it with stencil 3( you can see them in the list of materials below)

Then I stamped some fragments of the script stamp using Memento London Fog.
Then I stamped the willow branch(one of my favorites) using Versaclair Turquoise/Rain forest.
And finished it with the sentiment which is perfect for these 'wicked' times we are all living in.......

I stamped and embossed the leaves using clear embossing powder and blended using Distress inks. Then I stamped the clover stamp using Memento bamboo leaves and the geranium leaf using a turquoise.
When it was not sticky anymore I embossed a small fragment of the clover using a green glittery embossing powder.

Hope you are inspired to take out your stencils and have a play!

Treats on Tuesday with Christine - La gâterie du mardi avec Christine

Hi Everyone, it's Christine here with a another Christmas card for you, this time a little CAS (Clean And Simple) in a postage stamp style.

For the background I mixed Distress ink and Perfect Pearls spritzed with water on my Kraft mat and picked up the ink on my card by moving it in the inky puddles.

I then mixed Distress inks and Perfect Pearls to paint the Cardinal and the branch. The Pearls add a little shimmer to your inks which is a great way to create a pearlized version of your inks an paints. I used little die cut numbers and letters to create the cost of the stamp

I hope this inspires you to start your Christmas cards.

Ellie's Creative Monday

An easy but fun technique from me today:

- Find a colorful background from a magazine.
- Adhere it to a stencil temporarily, the stencil underneath the magazine paper, the colorful side of the paper up.
- Sand over the paper very gently.
- Use this paper as a background.
- Stamp the butterfly three times in a dark brown; no need to mask off while stamping three of them.
- Stamp it onto white cardstock too, fussycut it and adhere over the butterfly in the middle.

TM309 Rows of Diamonds

These two cards are made identically, except for the choice of pencil colors and the position of the flower pattern. Both are stamped on beige paper which allows to play with the white pencil to accentuate the light on the petals.

I also like to take advantage of the decorative paper pattern with its spiral in which the text fits nicely.

Inspirational Friday with Mariëtte

I needed a birthday card for a man and as it's autumn and his house is situated in the middle of a forest I came up with this lay-out.

Lovely autumn colors and falling leaves. The background texture is done with a 3D embossing folder, colored with distress oxide sprays and randomly stamped the fall text on it

The leaves are stamped with several colors of archival inks and covered with a thick layer of clear embossing powder. The leaves are adhered to a panel stamped with the wood structure stamp

I used those handy clips for holding the leaves when heating the embossing powder. I received them as a gift from a student during my workshops in Olympia, Washington at Art'n Soul. Such a clever idea and I use them often.
I love how the colors of the leaves pops when heat embossed.

Hi Everyone, it's Christine here with the card I sent to Marianne for the October swap Mariette organized on Facebook.

I started with a page I created when I did Kellee Wynne's "The Layered Page" on line course (thanks Ellie for pointing me toward this one 😏).
I originally made the pages into a book, well two actually using Kellee's instructions.
This is the page as part of the book before I cut the first page off, I turned the image so you can orientate your self to the card.

I added stamping and stencilled using crackle paste to add more depth to the page then stamped the flower image and using a Sakura Micron pen I etched the edge of the flower then fussy cut the image. I've explained this process using the same stamp in a previous post.  I stamped the sentiments and cut them and used the individual words.
