Treats on Tuesday with Christine - La gâterie du mardi avec Christine

Hi Everyone it's Christine here with a little stencil outlining and pencil colouring. I recently saw this technique on Facebook by Jo Firth-Young.

Jo took some black card stock and used a fairly open stencil and a white gel pen to outline the image then coloured with pencils. You can also do a little doodling if you want. I have a set of Caran d'Ache and Lyra pencils, I tend to use oil based as I find them easier to blend.

Her is the finished Mandala stencil card. I use a white pencil with a very light touch on the background and used a blender pencil to soften the pencil strokes.

A blender pencil can be a colourless version or even a white or very light colour pencil. Once you lay down the first colours going over with another burnishes the waxy or oily pencil.
You can see below how the pencil strokes are softened by going over with the white or blender pencil.

Here are two cards I made out of one stencil on a piece of card that was 5.5"X8.5".

This is the card I sent Tonny in the card exchange for February

I hope you have a chance to give this technique a go, it's fun and easy.
